This book is written by Taiwanese beetle-collecting hobbyist  Uitsiann Ong and Japanese jewel beetle specialist, Takaharu Hattori. The authors devote decades to conduct field studies in Taiwan and its surrounding islands. This book features 105 native Taiwan jewel beetles with high-quality photos and images of genital apparatus of each species. Readers can take this guide to identify rare or tiny species. The book also serves as a valuable resource for academic studies.

Vol.2
Covers an additional 100 species of jewel beetles in Taiwan, including 73 endemic species, 8 endemic subspecies, and 5 new recorded species. This book presents high-quality pictures and provides information on the host plants, occurrence period, type locality, distribution, and photographs of male genitalia for 98 species.
